TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Explosions could be heard during a raging house fire in Trenton, New Jersey that left five people injured.
Viewer video shows the flames on Boudinot Street, near Murray Street just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
One male suffered burns to his face and four other people were taken to the hospital.
The victims' injuries do not seem to be life-threatening, neighbors told Action News.
Witnesses say they heard loud explosions coming from the burning home, which can also be heard in the viewer video.
Trenton police went door to door evacuating neighbors.
"When we came out the house we could feel the heat hitting my arm. I was like, 'Oh my God,'" said neighbor Lawrence Dickerson.
One man flagged down a nearby police officer when he saw the flames.
"I said, 'Yo, it's a fire blazing. It's a fire blazing!' He stopped, turned around and went up there. Thank God everyone was out of the house," he told Action News overnight.
Among those injured is a man with burns to his face. Dickerson said that the man tried to put the fire out himself.
"I talked to him last night, the ambulance came and got him," Dickerson said.
The fire consumed one home in a duplex and heavily damaged the one next door. Louis Smith lives next door to where the fire started and is now staying with family.
"Emotional still. Scared. I've never experienced anything like that," Smith said.
Neighbors on either side said with the wind Tuesday night, they were nervous the fire would jump to other structures, but firefighters were able to contain it.
It is unclear what sparked the blaze or caused the explosions.
